The Sandalwood DJ Party held on February 7 at London’s famous Zoo Bar showcased the vibrancy of Kannada music and culture on the dance floor at its very best. Organized for the second consecutive year by Kannadigaru UK, the event was a great success, with around 140 attendees. Most participants were professionals and students from Karnataka who came together in the heart of London, dancing energetically to Kannada songs and creating a lively, electric atmosphere.
DJ Venky delivered a high-energy musical experience by blending nostalgic classics with the latest popular Kannada hits. Originally from Bengaluru and currently working as an IT professional in the United Kingdom, he pursues DJing as a passion. Popular tracks like “Huttidare Kannada Naadalli,” “Bangle Bangari,” “Meet Madona Illa Date Madona,” “Ra Ra Rakkamma,” and “Shaane Top Agavle” had everyone singing along and dancing. Superhit songs of Ravichandran from the movie Premaloka and evergreen classics like Dr. Rajkumar’s “Love Me or Hate Me” brought back waves of nostalgia.
Colorful lighting, an excellent sound system, and enthusiastic dancers elevated the excitement of the event even further. The party served as a wonderful platform for Kannadigas in the UK to connect with one another and strengthen their sense of community. Attendees shared how deeply they felt connected to their language, music, and culture, reinforcing the bonds within the Kannada community in the UK.
Overall, the Sandalwood DJ Party turned into an unforgettable night—full of celebration, energy, and rich cultural expression.
